Things You'll Need:
motivation
water
athletic clothing
sneakers
1. If it has been a while since you last exercised you will definitely want to start off taking it easy so as not to strain yourself. Do not start off running a mile right away. Start off WALKING a mile a few times until you feel really comfortable with it. When you feel you are ready to bump yourself up to running you may do so.
2. A key part in getting back into shape is to cut back on the unhealthy food you eat or drink (i.e. substitute soda with water or 100% real fruit juice and you will actually start to feel more energetic and less bloated).
3. Try to go to sleep at a decent hour. If you go to sleep earlier this will help you to be able to wake up earlier. Getting at least eight hours of sleep each night will leave you with more energy to start the day off right. However sleeping too much can actually make you more tired during day. That's why it is important to keep yourself active during the day so you can sleep better at night.
4. Once you find yourself being able to run more easily you may want to consider doing a work out that works the muscles in the entire body. There are plenty of good exercises that will help you to do this. Some examples of these exercises are: yoga, swimming, aerobics classes, personal training/gym, etc.
To answer your question: heck yes! You could have insomnia, early awakening insomnia, a sleep phase disorder……go see a doctor, You can be referred to a sleep lab if the doctor doesnt know what the problem is immediately. I will give you some tips but I think you'll find that this wont help. Your problem is more serious then a question of what the specialists call sleep hygeine.
* You have to find something that wakes you up in the morning. You have to be able to be able to maintain a regular waking time no matter how tired you are. Some people are very heavy sleepers – you are obviosly one of them. Keep experimenting. (try a routine of something different everyday so that you dont get used to it)
* Do not use your bed or bedroom for anything other then sleep. No TV, no studying – no nothing except sleep.
* Are you overwieight? Lose the excess baggage – if you have sleep apnoea it will exaberate the problem
* Dont use a digital clock and make sure your room is dark enough to sleep
*Make sure your room is cool and you are not too warm or cold in bed
* Dont drink any beveredge that contains caffiene
* skip alchohol
* Dont smoke or take drugs including sleeping pills
* Make sure you are mentally relaxed before attempting to sleep – turn off the TV, X-box at least an hour before bed, try some mediatation of other simple relaxation techniques
* Dont go to bed hungry and dont eat a heavy meal before bed
* try a glass of milk before bed
* make sure you are getting plenty of old-fashioned physical exercise during the day to tire you out at nights
* Make sure your mattress and pillow are comfortable and not the source of the problem by being either too hard or soft.
OK? Good Luck but I think its the sleep lab for you.
You didn't say why she had to become an indoor cat. Your cat is obviously at least as miserable about the situation as you are. You could try leash training her and taking her for walks if you have any yard. That helped mine adjust to being indoors. They get a daily dose of outdoors without being loose. If you decide to do this, buy an h-style harness and a retractable leash. At first the cat may not like the harness much and may just lay down wearing it but if you carry her outside in it she will get the idea that she gets to go out wearing it and after a bit probably enjoy the walks. On the leash you can let her out, let her climb a tree, sniff the grass, etc. It helps a lot. I've taken three outdoor cats indoors and leash trained them successfully. They look forward to their daily walks. Since your cat was an outdoor cat, you might try a cat litter like feline pine where it is a natural litter that reminds the cat of the outdoors. Scented clay litters can be offensive to some cats. I also would try and provide her with something of height. When our cats were getting on the counter it was for entertainment so I put a tall cat tree by a window so they could climb something higher than the counters and have a place that was theirs. It didn't work 100% but it reduced the problem by about 99%.
Good luck.
The stress makes your sleep bad, the bad sleep stresses you. If you cant break the sleep, break the stress. I think your body is going to sleep to avoid the stressful stuff you have to do in the daytime. You need to stop and take a look at your life and think differently about the stress fist. Remove it if you can. If you cant you need help to deal with it calmly and not get stressed.
Try relaxation exercises and meditation. Look some up on the net. Also eating at the right times can reset your internal clock. So have meals at the right times not just when you can fit them in. If you havent got time, miss the meal. (dont do this for too long though, dont get ill from it)
Have a routine before you go to bed, eg have a shower, ready a book for half hour (not tv, too exciting and will help keep you awake!) meditate for 25 mins then try and sleep. Do the same thing every time before you go to sleep.
After one month of doing all this if it doesnt work, go see the doctor. You dont want pills to make you sleep, what you need is something to help with the stress. Maybe a holiday to help you relax before you start trying your new bedtime routines would also help crack it.
If all else fails, decide to do college next year and get a job on nights till your body starts to behave!
Obviously it's going to take some work to change this behavior. I've just learned about a promising sounding book that you might look into "Naughty No More. (How to train your cat.)" It's written by a woman who is a cat behavior expert so it' might give you some guidance that is different than what you've tried so far.
Your question details are full of errors:
1) That giant beaver is way too far away for me to go there once a week, so I have a beaver image shrine in my home, and I just pray to that 5 times a day. That seems to satisfy the local authorities.
2) Yes, maple syrup and Tim Horton's coffee are foods (drinks, actually) of the Gods, but I'm not forced to partake of them in great quantities. I just happen to WANT to, but nobody's forcing me.
3) The only time my health care was threatened was when I was in Japan teaching English for a year. But then when I told Health Canada that my Mum was shipping Tim Horton's coffee and maple syrup to me every week, the guy I talked to said something like YOU'RE A REAL CANADIAN, EH? SAY HI TO THE WIFE, AND YOU CAN KEEP YOUR HEALTH CARE, EH?
4) An 82-hour hockey game? I wish!!!!
Next time don't be such a hoser, eh? Good day!
When Medicaid says they pay for 8 sessions a year, that's all they pay for. You have NO chance of them paying more, because then they'd have to pay more for EVERYONE! You're not going to win.
But.
Ask your chiropractor if they'd do it for $20 a session. Explain your finances, and throw yourself on his mercy. He doesn't really care, see, if medicaid pays this or not, because if they don't pay this, he's STILL going to come after you for it – or your spouse.
