Your teeth are very important and if you don’t take good care of it, it’ll cost you thousands later down the road. The older you get the more you will get dental problems. If you take the time to take care of your teeth every single day then you won’t get any problem. The problem is that most people neglect their teeth, especially younger people who go out until 3am and sleep right away when they get home and don’t brush their teeth. I’ve seen my brothers done it. They would go out too late and don’t even have the energy to brush their teeth when they get home and he did ends up with some teeth problems. This doesn’t sounds pleasant but it’s true.
You can brush before going to bed and after each meal. Brush your teeth as often as you need to and are required to. You can get rid of foods stuck in your teeth that can cause bacterial growth. Always brush before you go to bed because you have at least 10 hours for bacterial to be happy. You can floss before going to bed and after each meal. Floss and floss again. Flossing will be your best friend when you turn older and realized that the floss saves you from fake teeth. Flossing will get out all of the trapped foods and plague between your teeth and gums that let bacteria grow more. Having foods and plague build up will give you gingivitis that can get into your bloodstreams.
This is your best friend again. Anti-bacterial mouth wash is the best gift you can give to yourself. It’ll get rid of bacteria in your mouth that can cause dental diseases. Use it every single time you brush your teeth. It’s one of the most important step to dental health. You can’t missed it, so stock up your restrooms with tons of mouthwash.
Replace your toothbrush every 2-3 months. The dentists recommend that you replace your toothbrush often because your toothbrush will trapped lots of bacteria as you use it. The old bristle won’t be able to do a good job either.
It’s a good idea to clean your toothbrush with mouthwash before you put it into your mouth to get rid of bacteria. Buy more floss. Floss is your best friend. Don’t forget to use it. Buy an electric toothbrush. It has more power than a non-electric toothbrush and it can reach area that your hands can’t. Get a home cleaning kit.
You can do a lot on your own too. One of my favorite thing is the scrapers. It can removes plague really well. Your best bet is remove all plague with this scraper. Plague will gives you lots of dental problems.
Get a checkup when you see problems. Don’t hesitate or else it’ll be too late. Your disease can progress into something worse and it’ll cost you more money and maybe even the tooth. Take calcium supplements. Calcium will make your teeth strong and you won’t chip it. It’s one of the best thing you can take for your teeth. You can also drink plenty of non-fat milk or eat orange and cheese for strong teeth.
Stay away from sweets. Sweets will make your teeth really prone to cavities. Coffee and colored drinks will stain your teeth. Drink with a straw to avoid coloring your teeth. Citric acid foods like lemon will tear away your teeth enamel. Acidic food will tear away your teeth enamel making it weaker and will break easily. Don’t eat hard food like ice that requires strong bite because you can chip your teeth. You can chip or break a portion of your tooth if you have weak tooth, especially kids.

Nearly all dental plans advertised on the Internet are discount plans, not insurance. Even with a discount plan, a wisdom tooth extraction will still cost several hundred dollars. If you need actual insurance, be very careful to select an insurance policy, not a discount plan. Anything described as an "insurance alternative" or a "discount plan" is not insurance. Most things described as
dental plan" are also discount plans, not insurance.
HUahahahahahah you’re talking so funny with that retainer hahahaha… LOL is it hurt? or tired?
I would encourage you to visit this great website: http://www.healthsavings.ourperfectcard.com I signed up online over 5 years ago when I was in college and they have saved me thousands of dollars on all of my dental needs. From extractions, xrays, fillings, root canals…etc. Even my braces had coverage. They even had my very affordable benefits active in 2 hours and was able to use them the very same day. Good luck and Hope this helps out
lol thats hilarious! You sound like katy perry in the last friday night video
you sound like a kid talking with them on!
@sindentosca its very hard to speak with the retainer in lol…it doesnt hurt…it’s just uncomfortable
Getting retainers in two months! Now you’ve scared me!
Your Georgia accent sounds cool with retainers! Love how describe theChiro as a “crazy fool”!
Let me tell you a few thoughts on this.
First, call the dentists in your area and see WHAT THEY TAKE because you could pay for something no one takes. Know what I mean?
Also, read the plan carefully. Sometimes they offer coverage similar to the price you pay for it. What I mean is, if you add up your monthly payments for the insurance, and then subtract the deductable, etc etc etc, it may not be worth signing on for a year.
Lastly, if you can find a dental college in your area, or outside your area, you can often find very cheap rates and long lines. Something to consider depending on what you want done. I had a root canal done at one and the student was so nervous that I was upset, he was very, very careful and kind. I had a tooth pulled at the local overpriced dentist with a degree and he was a jerk who yelled at me and treated me rudely.
There are some great exercises to help u strengthen your neck n jaw to help prevent it from poppin n lockin! Here’s an example: keep your head strait, exaggerate your smile while stickin your lower jaw forward! Your face should kinda look like a triangle….lol But like l said, if done correctly, u will feel this in your neck n jaw! Make a video of this n post….thanks! : )
hm. i see you already got the two "spamswers" that always comment on dental questions.
but to ACTUALLY answer your question,
I do have an idea of what you might you might be able to do.
its sometimes a little harder to pick up an insurance right now for braces if you are planning on getting them in the near future because some insurances wont help you on them for a couple of years, or will only help slightly a little bit, but their full benefits would not kick in till later.
What i would check out is something called a dental discount plan. Now its not going to cut the price in half, but some do cut 20% off or more depending on which dental discount plan you go with. The nice thing is that they dont have maximums per year (which you might run into on insurance) and they do start right away for any procedure. The top ones in my opion are 1Dental.com, Aetna Dental Access, and DentalPlans. i think pound for pound the 1Dental Plan is the best, especially for an individual because it does have a monthly option to pay for membership. Its the cheapest, But it saves the most… it really is the best dental plan i have seen, but the other ones i have listed are good plans too.
Check those out though, and also see if you can use the dental plan at the office and then maybe file the rest with your insurance. that sometimes works and that would SIGNIFICANTLY reduce the costs.
Good Luck, I know braces are not cheap, but I hope that helps.
You have five options with dental.
1. Go without insurance. If you have good teeth and just want the basics you probably don't need any plan. A yearly cleaning and exam and even an occasional filling will cost you less without insurance.
2. Visit a local dental school. You can get many procedures done for a reduced price if you're willing to let them practice on you.
3. Insurance – Depending upon the policy: cost $30-$60 per month. You pay a $50 deductible first, they have an annual maximum that they'll pay per year of $750 – $1500, they have a waiting period up to 18 months for major work and then you're paying 50% of the charges. Example – average cost for a root canal in my area is $829. With insurance you pay $414 after paying 18 months of premium (around $800 or $900). Advantage – you can use any dentist with most plans.
4. Discount plans – Cost – $5-$12 per month. No deductible, no annual maximum and no waiting periods. Also, hardly any dentists will accept the plan and when they do you MIGHT get a 10% discount, which is about the same discount you can get by paying cash. Example – average cost for a root canal in my area is $829. With discount plans you pay around $746. Be very wary of these plans because most are scams. The people that sell these plans have little or no knowledge about health & dental insurance and do not need a license to sell them. The plans are not regulated by the state so you have no recourse when you have problems. Some states are starting to ban these plans from being sold. Here is an informative link http://www.insurancejournal.com/news/west/2006/11/22/74554.htm concerning these plans.
5. Fee for Service discount plans – Cost $7-$15 per month. No deductible, no annual maximum and no waiting periods. Many dentist will accept the plan (check providers first before signing up with any plan). When you use the plan there is a set fee that the dentist will charge you. Example – average cost for a root canal in my area is $829. With fee for service plans you pay as little as $404.
I'm an insurance agent and my personal plan is the fee for service plan. I got mine here http://www.dpbrokers.com/default.aspx?locationid=20349 specifically the Aetna Dental Access plan but which one you get depends upon your area and comparing the fee schedule to find the best for what you need covered.
